Assigning Payer ID Numbers Manually

To assign payer ID numbers manually:

  1. Select an option:

The Payer Setup window is displayed, listing all insurance companies in the database that accept claims electronically.

  1. For companies that accept electronic claims, select a company name and click Assign ID. The Insurance Company List window is displayed. Double-click the appropriate company name, or click the name and click Select. The value in the Payer column for the company is changed to the payer’s identification number. If the company is listed multiple times, select each one.

  2. BlueCross BlueShield, Delta Dental, and Medicaid are listed by state. Be sure to select the correct state.
