Transferring Data—The Data Sync

After the system administrator has made the PracticeToGo system settings and security settings, and you have set your PracticeToGo user preferences, you are ready to transfer data.

You can sync data to either the Palm OS platform or the Microsoft Outlook software.

• To perform a HotSync using PracticeToGo and the Palm OS platform:To perform a HotSync using PracticeToGo and the Palm OS platform:

  1. Place the Palm organizer in the HotSync cradle.

  2. Press the HotSync button on the cradle.

  3. When the PracticeToGo HotSync status box on the PC indicates that the synchronization is finished, remove the Palm organizer from the cradle.

   

• To sync data from the PC SoftDent software to the Microsoft Outlook software:To sync data from the PC SoftDent software to the Microsoft Outlook software:

  • To manually sync between PracticeToGo and the Microsoft Outlook software, select System > PracticeToGo > Synchronize with MicroSoft Outlook.

  • To sync with the Microsoft Outlook software automatically when you start or exit the SoftDent software, select System > PracticeToGo > System Settings and select the appropriate settings. See PracticeToGo System Settings for more information.
