eServices > Using the ePostings Service
The ePostings Claim Detail window lists all transactions of a claim selected in the ePostings Payment Detail window.
The same claim information (for SoftDent and ePostings) displayed in the ePostings Payment Detail window is displayed in this window; however, in this window you can edit the Pat Resp. and Writeoff amounts for any of the transactions in the claim that are mismatched and require attention.
Amounts in the columns from the SoftDent side are matched to the columns on the ePostings side and display in red when a mismatch occurs.
To edit the payment distribution:
Do one of the following:
Select Insurance > Insurance Payments > ePostings > ePostings Payment Viewer.
Click in the ePostings Notifications section in Practice Central.
Select the ePostings Notifications entry in the Office Expert Summary in Practice Central.
The ePostings Payment Viewer window is displayed.
Double-click a payment. The ePostings Payment Detail window is displayed.
Select a claim with a status of Verify Distribution or Manual Distribution, and click the status link. Select Edit Distribution. The ePostings Claim Detail window is displayed.
Click in the Pat Resp or Writeoff field containing red text, and type your changes.
Increasing the Pat Resp and/or Writeoff amount decreases the Other Adjust amount in the same amount.
Decreasing the Pat Resp and/or Writeoff amount increases the Other Adjust amount in the same amount.
The Other Adjust amount must be zero before you can post the payment.
After you have made your changes and the column amounts match, the color of the text changes.
If you make a mistake, press Esc to return the field to the original amount.
Click View/Add Notes. The ePostings - View/Add Notes window is displayed.
Type any notes regarding the change, and click OK to close the ePostings Notes window.
Any information displayed in the Remarks section comes from the Original ePostings Data file sent by the eServices clearinghouse and explains why a procedure was not fully paid.
Click OK.
