Setting Daily Appointments Window Privacy

You can toggle HIPAA Privacy in the Daily Appointments window. When HIPAA Privacy is enabled, patient initials are displayed instead of full names, and no phone numbers are displayed.

Additionally, you can customize how patient names and phone numbers are displayed when a HIPAA appointment template is selected.

To customize a HIPAA template or enable HIPAA Privacy in the Daily Appointments window:

  3. To customize a HIPAA template in the Daily Appointments window:To customize a HIPAA template in the Daily Appointments window:Select an existing appointment, right-click, and select Properties. The Appointment Properties window is displayed.

  1. Select a template from the Appointment Template drop-down list.

If you select the Front Office - HIPAA template:If you select the Front Office - HIPAA template:The patient initials are displayed on the first line of the appointment time slot. The scheduled procedural codes are displayed beneath the patient name. The patient home and work phone numbers are not displayed.

If you select the Back Office - HIPAA template:If you select the Back Office - HIPAA template:The patient initials are displayed on the first line of the appointment time slot. The scheduled procedural codes are displayed beneath the patient name, and the patient home and work phone numbers are not displayed.

  1. Select the format in which to display patient names from the Name Format section.

  2. Select the format in which to display patient phone numbers from the Phone Format section.

  3. Select an option:

  4. To apply the property settings to all users:To apply the property settings to all users:Select Set for ALL USERS.

  5. To restore the default property settings to all users:To restore the default property settings to all users:Select Restore ALL USERS.

  6. To restore the default property settings for the logged in user:To restore the default property settings for the logged in user:Select Restore Defaults.

  1. Click OK twice. The Daily Appointments window is displayed.

To enable the HIPAA Privacy feature in the Daily Appointments window only:To enable the HIPAA Privacy feature in the Daily Appointments window only:Click the Privacy On icon in the Scheduler bar. If the global HIPAA Privacy feature is disabled, this feature is disabled when you close the window.

To disable the HIPAA Privacy feature in the Daily Appointments window only:To disable the HIPAA Privacy feature in the Daily Appointments window only:Click the Privacy Off icon in the Scheduler bar. If the global HIPAA Privacy feature is enabled, this feature is enabled when you close the window.
