Using the Reminder Template Editor

SMS Reminder Messages

To create a new SMS reminder template:

  1. Click Add Task or Edit Task.  The Appointment Reminder Task window is displayed.

  2. Click Manage.  The Reminder Template Editor window is displayed.

  3. Click New.

  4. Enter a name in the Template Name field.

  5. Select Show SMS Response Text if you want the patient to be able to confirm or cancel their appointment by replying to the text message.

  6. Type the message in the field.

  7. To insert a merge field into the message, right-click and select the required option form the list.

  1. Click Apply.

  2. Click OK to return to the Appointment Reminder Task window.

  3. If the message, including any merge fields and the response text (if selected), exceeds 160 characters, it is sent as two or more messages and you are charged for each one.

To edit an existing SMS reminder message

  1. Click Add Task or Edit Task.  The Appointment Reminder Task window is displayed.

  2. Click Manage.  The Reminder Template Editor is displayed.

  3. Select the reminder message.

  4. Edit the message text.

  5. To insert a merge field into the message, right-click and select the option from the list.

  1. Click Apply.

  2. Click OK to return to the Appointment Reminder Task window.

  3. If the message, including any merge fields and the response text (if selected), exceeds 160 characters, it is sent as two or more messages and you are charged for each one.

To delete an existing SMS template:

  1. Click Add Task or Edit Task.  The Appointment Reminder Task window is displayed.

  2. Click Manage.  The Reminder Template Editor is displayed.

  3. Select the reminder message.

  4. Click Delete.  A confirmation message is displayed.

  5. Click Yes.

  6. Click OK to return to the Appointment Reminder Task window.

Email Reminder Templates

To add a new email template:

  1. Click Add Task or Edit Task.  The Appointment Reminder Task window is displayed.

  2. Click Manage.  The Reminder Template Editor window is displayed.

  3. Click New.

  4. Enter a name in the Template Name field.

  5. Type the message in the field.

  6. To insert a merge field into the message, right-click and select the option form the list.

  1. Click Apply.

  2. Click OK to return to the Appointment Reminder Task window.

To edit an existing email reminder message

  1. Click Add Task or Edit Task. The Appointment Reminder Task window is displayed.

  2. Click Manage.  The Reminder Template Editor is displayed.

  3. Select the reminder message.

  4. Edit the message text.

  5. To insert a merge field into the message, right-click and select the option from the list.

  1. Click Apply.

  2. Click OK to return to the Appointment Reminder Task window.

To delete an existing email template:

  1. Click Add Task or Edit Task. The Appointment Reminder Task window is displayed.

  2. Click Manage.  The Reminder Template Editor is displayed.

  3. Select the reminder message.

  4. Click Delete. A confirmation message is displayed.

  5.  Click Yes.

  6. Click OK to return to the Appointment Reminder Task window.
