When a lab case is delivered to your office, open the Lab Tracking Contact Expert. To open the expert, from the Experts menu, select Contact Expert > Lab tracking.
Select the patient’s name in the list, and click Lab Received on the far right portion of the window. This indicates receipt, and removes the case from future instances of the Lab Tracking Contact Expert.
Since it is likely that you receive multiple lab cases in a delivery, using this method is faster than opening the appointment for each patient to indicate receipt of each lab case.
If you receive the lab case from a lab that does not appear on the Contact Expert, it is probably because the Lab Pending option on the appointment is not selected, or the appointment associated with Lab Tracking is more than 30 days in the future. If it is the latter, go to the appointment, double-click it and un-check the Lab Pending option.
