When posting insurance payments, you typically select the patient for whom the payment is indicated. However, for all the outstanding claims created previous to the split, the payment must be posted to the account of the original responsible party where the transactions and claims reside.
When you try to post an insurance payment to an account that was split off before all outstanding claims were paid, a message displays directing you to the original responsible party’s ledger for posting.
