Getting Started > Configuring the PracticeWorks Software > Configuring Documents for Printing
The Printer Device Not Installed (the printer is not selected) error message is displayed when an installed printer has not been selected on the Configuration of PracticeWorks window. Use these instructions to enable printing when the printer works in other programs, such as Microsoft Word or Notepad.
In certain instances, the steps listed below will not produce the desired output. In such cases, it is likely that the printer name and path in Windows are too long for PracticeWorks to recognize.
To resolve the Printer Device Not Installed error:
Close PracticeWorks.
Click Start > All Programs > CS PracticeWorks > Configuration of CS PracticeWorks.
When configuring a printer for Charting, select Configuration of Charting Module.
Click Documents.
Select the document that did not print. The Configure for window is displayed.
Select for this computer only.
Click OK. The device not installed message is displayed.
Clear the error. The Document Configuration window is displayed.
Select the desired printer from the Printer drop-down menu.
Click OK.
Click File > Exit.
Launch PracticeWorks.
