Setting Up an Ortho Reminder Message

When you install the DataTrac Exchange Pack, a message is installed to remind you to activate a patient's contract when you post a procedure indicating that ortho appliances have been placed. You must set up the code, the posting event, and the AutoLink for this message.

To AutoLink this message:

  1. From the Lists menu, select Transaction codes. The Transaction Code List is displayed.

  2. Highlight the code you post to a patient’s ledger when the ortho appliances are placed, and click Edit. The Transaction Code Definition window is displayed for this code.

  3. Click the Posting AutoLinks button on the right side of the window. The Current AutoLinks window is displayed for this code.

  4. Click Add. The Select Response Type window is displayed.

  5. Highlight Display a message and click OK. The Select Message To Display window is displayed.

  6. Select Activate Ortho Contract and click OK. The Define New AutoLink – Step 1 window is displayed.

  7. Click No, always responds WITHOUT asking. The AutoLink for posting of… window is displayed.

  8. In the Advanced section, click Formula. The Advanced Criteria window is displayed.

  9. To display the message only if the patient has a pending contract, in the Formula area, type the following text:

    HasContract(Patient.PersonID, 0, 0, “Pending”)

  1. Click OK four times to return to the Transaction Code List. If you have more than one transaction code you use when ortho appliances are placed, repeat this procedure for each one.

  2. When you are finished, click Cancel to close the Transaction Code List.
