Using the Appointment Expert

The Appointment Expert is a tool that helps you schedule appointments more efficiently by finding available times related to the type of appointment the patient needs.

To access the Appointment Expert from the Make New Appointment window, click Find, or right-click an appointment when in reschedule mode and select Appointment Expert from the menu.

The Appointment Expert window is displayed.

The Appointment Expert window includes the following fields:

• Time range Type the time range you desire for the patient's appointment in these fields.

• Search from Type the date on which to begin searching for an appointment opening.

• for Select either the next available day, or type the number of weeks in which to search for the opening that best matches your criteria. Check the days of the week that suit the patient's schedule.

• Observe block booking rules Select this option to ensure that the appointment time falls within designated block booking parameters. Deselect this option if you want the appointment to override block booking parameters.

• Don't overlap doctor time Deselect this option if you want the appointment to overlap the doctor's previous time commitments, such as other patient appointments.

• Chairs to search Select the chairs of staff members who can perform the procedure for the patient.

To find an appointment that fits the selected criteria, click Begin search.
