Using the OrthoTrac Word Processing Module > Managing OrthoTrac Word Processing Letters
Posting letters merges patient information with the letter to produce a customized letter. You can post and print letters from the OrthoTrac main menu, or you can post and print letters from the patient chart for the current patient.
To post a letter:
Click the Word Processing button from the main menu. The Word Processing menu is displayed. Select Post and Print Letters.
OR
Select Functions > Word Processing > Post and Print Letters from the menu bar. The Post and Print Letters window is displayed.
OR
Click the Word Processing button from the patient chart. The Word Processing menu is displayed. Select Post and Print Letters. The Post and Print Letters window is displayed. It includes the following columns:
When printing a final letter, you can confirm it and save it to permanent document storage in patient tracking. It will no longer be included in the count of printed letters.
Select the letter(s) you want to post. To post more than one letter type at a time, hold the Ctrl button down and select the next letter to post. Click Post Letter.
If you have opened this window from the main menu, the OrthoTrac Patient Lookup window is displayed. Select the patient for which you want to post the letter(s). If you opened this window in the patient chart, the software assumes you are posting for that patient and does not display the lookup window.
The software updates the number in the Unprinted column for that letter type.
OR
Type the first few characters of the letter name in the Find Letter: field and click Search. When the letter is selected, click Post Letter. The software updates the number in the Unprinted column for that letter type.
When a letter has the addressee set to Financial or Responsible Party, it is posted to the responsible party only when the Send Letters option is set to All or Financial Only.
