Using the OrthoTrac Patient Flow Module > Using the Light Bar
You can drag a patient from the grid to a location button at the top of the window and change the Doctor, Assistant, and Chair, if necessary. Moving a patient to either the Operatory or Checkout can automatically open the Treatment Card or Patient Checkout process (if you have selected those options in the Automatically Load section of the General Options tab). See Setting Up OrthoTrac Patient Flow Module Options for more information.
While patients are in the chairs, you can quickly move from one patient’s treatment card to another by right-clicking on an occupied chair and selecting Load Charting.
You can drag a patient from the grid directly to a chair.
You can click on any patient in the light bar to change the location (move the patient out of the Operatory chair). When the window refreshes, the row color in the grid indicates the patient’s new location. When today’s treatment has been completed, move the patient to another location by clicking on the chair and selecting Move Patient to…. This makes the Operatory chair available for the next patient.
If your office does not currently use the Out Deck location, but checkout times are important in your patient flow reports, you can add the Out Deck location to any front desk computers from which patients typically checkout, as well as to the operatory workstations, as a destination. This enables you to use the Out Deck as a holding area for patients who have been treated but are waiting to check out.
For fast access to several light bar functions, use the icon in the system tray. Right-click the icon to access the following options:
Select this option to dock the light bar at the top, left, right, or bottom of the workstation screen.
The Left and Right docking options are disabled if the current screen pixel width is less than the pixel width of the docked lightbar.
The Top and Bottom docking options are disabled if the current screen pixel height is less than the pixel height of the docked lightbar.
Select this option to display the Patient Flow status graph. This graph shows the number of patients in each patient flow location, and uses the colors defined for each location in Patient Flow Options.
Select this option to keep the light bar visible and floating on top of all other open windows.
Select this option to close the light bar.
