Performing Insurance Functions > Using the OrthoTrac Electronic Claim Service
After electronically submitting a claim, you can check the status of the claim, if necessary.
To use this feature, you must be using the OrthoTrac electronic claim service, and the Electronic Insurance Claim Status option on the eServices Setup window must be selected.
To check the status of an electronic claim:
In the patient chart, click the Claims button. The Claims window is displayed.
Select the claim for which you want to check the status and click Status. The Claim Status window is displayed.
Select an option:
Print — Prints the claim status request.
Cancel — Closes the window.
OR
If the insurance claim has not yet been processed by the insurance provider, the Claim Status window is displayed with a message stating "Entity not found. Cannot provide further status electronically."
Select an option:
Check Status — Removes the existing status request and processes a new request. The new request is automatically displayed.
Remove — Removes the existing request without processing a new request.
Print — Prints the claim status request.
Cancel — Closes the window.
