Configuring OrthoTrac > Setting Up the Schedule > Appointment Types
To add new appointment types:
Select Functions > Maintenance/Set-up > Schedule Maintenance from the menu bar.
In the Schedule Maintenance window, click Add in the Types section of the window. The Edit Appointment Type window is displayed.
In the Code field, type a two- to four-character appointment code description. This code should be as descriptive as possible in identifying the specific appointment type, as it appears on the schedule display and when viewing appointments.
In the Description field, type a long description of the appointment type. This description is displayed on schedule reports and when selecting an appointment type.
In the Units field, type the number of schedule units for this appointment type.
When you move the cursor out of the Units field, an example of how the appointment code will look on the schedule is displayed in the Example field.
In the Start Time field, type a start time if different from your default.
In the End Time field, type an end time if different from your default.
In the Days section, click the options to select the days you schedule this appointment type, or click All Days to select all of the days.
In the Chairs section, click the options to select the chairs for which you want to schedule this appointment type, or click All Chairs to select all of the chairs.
Click Color to display a list of colors from which to select. Click a color from the list to select an identifying color for this appointment type.
The Scheduler uses gray shading on every other month in the calendar, making it easier to identify the end of one month and the beginning of another. This shading does not conflict with the existing color coding of appointment types.
If a particular procedure is always posted with this appointment type, click Procedures to display the Procedures window. Select the appropriate procedure(s) for this appointment type and click OK. Linked procedures print on schedule reports and are automatically posted during checkout.
Procedures can also be linked to a specific appointment at the time of scheduling.
