Performing an Upgrade

Important: You must update all workstations to CS Orthodontic Imaging, 11.8 or higher, before upgrading to SQL Server 2014.

To upgrade the software:

Note: Install the software on each network computer containing practice management software.

Before you begin:

Ensure that each computer in your network meets the minimum system requirements. For more information, see the CS Orthodontic Imaging System Requirements.
Ensure the designated installation folder on your server is a shared folder with full read and write permissions. See the documentation and online help provided with your Windows operating system for more information on sharing.
Run a daily backup of important data, review this installation guide, and shut down all workstations.
Download the installer files.

Downloading the Installer

Beginning with version 11.12, the CS Orthodontic Imaging Installer is available via download from Carestream Dental’s Software Update Central page.

Save the installer files to your server computer, and then follow the procedures in this document to perform an upgrade.

To download the Installer files:

On your computer, go to https://www.carestreamdental.com/en-us/forms/update-central/. The Software Update Central window is displayed.
In the Step 1 box, click the drop-down arrow and select CS Orthodontic Imaging Software.
In the Step 2 box, click the drop-down arrow and select the version of the software you are currently running. If your version is eligible for updates, a link is displayed in the Step 3 box.
In the Step 3 box, click the Continue with Update Request link. The Software Update Central - CS Orthodontic Imaging Software vxx.xx.x window is displayed.
Complete the information in the window and click Submit Request. You will receive an email with a link that will enable you to download the files.
Click the link in the email, and save the file to the default download location.

To upgrade CS Orthodontic Imaging to the latest version, you must install the software in the following order:
