Automatic Button

Automatically increases image readability.

Mero-Vassey Edge Detection Button

Detects 2x2 horizontal or vertical edges. It eliminates most of the background of the image and only displays the detectable edges. Edges in the image are defined as places on the image where the shades of color change rapidly
Note:
You cannot use this filter with the Automatic, Sobel Edge Detection, Sharpen, or Equalize filters.

Sobel Edge Detection Button

Detects edges on curved areas.
Note:
You cannot use this filter with the Automatic, Mero-Vassey Edge Detection, Sharpen, or Equalize filters.

Sharpen Button

Detects the edges of the image and increases the contrast in those areas.
Note:
You cannot use this filter with the Automatic, Mero-Vassey Edge Detection, Sharpen, or Equalize filters.

Sharpen More Button

Increases the contrast.

Histogram Equalize Button

Distributes the grey shades equally in an image. The lightest area on the image is mapped to white; the darkest part of the image is mapped to black. The rest of the greys are dispersed throughout the image based on these new settings.
Note:
You cannot use this filter with the Automatic, Mero-Vassey Edge Detection, or Sharpen filters.

Invert Button

Maps the black pixels of the x-ray to white pixels and the white pixels to black pixels, and reverses the remaining greys based on that color mapping.

Gray Scale Button

Removes color from an image, creating a black and white image.

Optiview Button

Maps pure black to blue and pure white to green and leaves the remaining image untouched. When using this filter, adjust contrast, gamma, and brightness values to enhance areas in the image.
Note:
You cannot use this filter with the Pseudo Color 1, 2, or 3 filters.

Pseudo Color 1 Button

Maps pure black to blue and pure white to red; other shades of grey are mapped on the image based on these colors on the color wheel.

You cannot use this filter with the Optiview or Pseudo Color 1 or 2 filters.

Analyzes the relative density in an image. Depending on the contrast, you can compare two points on the same image.

Isodensity Button

Shows areas of equal density as a single color, enabling you to identify areas of interest on the x-ray image.

Auto Detect Landmarks

Automatically identifies landmarks and structures on the cephalometric image.
