Editing Templates

You can modify existing templates to create new templates for the patient. The templates provided are close to the real bony structure, but you may want to match them closely to the bone. Keep in mind that the template shape does not affect calculation results; the landmark points you enter are what is used to make a calculation. However, you may want to edit a template for aesthetic reasons.

To edit templates to fit the patient’s hard tissue:

  1. While viewing an analysis, click Tools Button. The Tracing window is displayed.

  2. To open the Tracing window, make sure the Analysis, Orthodontics, Surgery, and Superimposition buttons are not selected on the toolbar.

  1. Click Adjust Template. The Digitizing/Editing window is displayed.

  2. Select a template from the list. The cephalometric image and selected template are displayed in the Digitizing/Editing window.

  3. Adjust the template by clicking and dragging landmarks to new positions.

  4. After you reposition all necessary landmarks, click Done.
