Adjusting 3D Preview Rendering Speed

A display delay can occur when opening large volumes in 3D Preview. A progress bar shows that the volume is still in the process of loading.

Default settings are usually optimal, but you can customize options in the Preferences window to adjust rendering speed and quality.

To configure 3D Preview rendering:

1. Click . The CS OMS Imaging Preferences window is displayed.

2. Click the 3D Display tab.

3. In the Display Options section, select one of the following:

4. Rendering SpeedRendering SpeedSelect this option to prioritize rendering speed over image quality.

5. Speed/Quality BalanceSpeed/Quality BalanceSelect this option to balance image quality and  rendering speed.

6. Rendering QualityRendering QualitySelect this option to prioritize image quality over rendering speed.

4. Deselect Shading.

• Turning off shading will render images without shadows in 3D Preview.

5. From the Desired rendering technique drop-down list, select one of the following:

• Enhanced hardware-accelerated renderingEnhanced hardware-accelerated renderingSelect this option for faster rendering of images.

• Software renderingSoftware renderingSelect this option to render images using only the software. Image rendering will be slower. Use this setting if hardware issues occur.

6. Click OK. A message is displayed, informing you that you must restart the CS OMS Imaging software.

7. Click OK.

8. Restart the imaging software.
