Verifying or Changing WinOMS Settings for ePayments Secure

After your hardware has been set up for use with ePayments Secure, you can verify the following settings in the WinOMS software.

Security

To view, add, or change employee permissions for using ePayments Secure:

  1. Select Utilities > Security. The Set Security Level Permissions window is displayed.
  2. Under All Items, select Charge & Payment Entry > Payment.
  3. Select the appropriate level for ePayments Setup, Authorization, and Settlements for each employee that uses the service.

Account Information

Account information should already be entered when you begin using ePayments Secure.

To verify or update this information, select Tables > eServices > Configure Other eServices. The Other eServices Configuration window is displayed with the Provider TIN and Account Number.

Practice Preferences

The WinOMS Practice Preferences settings should already be configured to use ePayments Secure. To verify that the service is enabled, or to view the location of the data directory:

  1. Select Tables > Practice > Practice Preferences. The Practice Preferences window is displayed.
  2. On the Financial tab, ensure that Use ePayments Secure to post credit card transactions is selected.
  3. Verify the Data Directory, or change the path if it is incorrect.

ePayments Setup

The ePayments Settings window has five tabs that contain setup information for your practice. Most of this information is set up for you by a Carestream Dental representative. Use the Practice tab to select receipt printing options, and the Devices tab to view the locations of card readers in your office.

To set printing options:

  1. Select Billing > ePayments Secure > ePayments Secure Setup. The ePayments Settings window is displayed to the Practice tab.

  2. Set the Printing options: Print Receipt: Yes or No, and the number of copies to print.
