Working with Prescriptions > Lexicomp Data Integration
After you have set up your Lexicomp account to interface with WinOMS, use the Drug Matching utility to match the drugs and prescriptions in your software with the Lexicomp drug list.
The Lexicomp Drug ID number is stored with the drug information in WinOMS, and enables you to retrieve information about the drug using the Interaction and Drug Monograph buttons on related windows.
To set up Lexicomp Drug ID numbers:
Select Tables > Drugs & Prescriptions > Lexicomp Drug Matching. The Lexicomp Drug Matching Utility is displayed, showing both the WinOMS Drug Lists and the Lexicomp Drug List.
The WinOMS Drug List is divided into three tabs: Prescriptions, Medications, and ePrescriptions. Use the filter to display All, Unmatched, or Modified drugs.
To find a drug in either list, begin typing a name in the Description field. The list displays the matches. Select the drug you want to match.
Find the corresponding entry in the other list, and drag the item from one list to the matching drug in the other. The Lexicomp Drug ID is entered into the WinOMS Drug List table.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you have matched all the drugs you want to match.
Click Ok.
You can enter the Lexicomp Drug ID number manually for individual medications and prescriptions.
