Walk-in patients are set up in WinOMS to:
Schedule an appointment for a new patient, gathering only basic information.
Keep them separate from existing patients in case of a cancellation or no-show.
To enter a walk-in patient:
On the WinOMS toolbar, click . The Appointment Scheduler window is displayed to the current date and the multi-provider Daily Detail view.
Select the date for which you want to schedule the appointment.
Double-click the appointment time, and do one of the following:
If no patient has been designated as the current patient, the Patient and Walk-In Search window is displayed.
If a patient is designated as the current patient, the Appointment Data Entry window is displayed. To open the Patient and Walk-In Search window, click Find Pat on the Appointment Scheduler window.
Click New. The Walkin Setup window is displayed.
In the fields provided, enter the patient’s personal information.
In the fields provided, enter the patient’s dentist, physician, and referral information.
In the Note field, include miscellaneous notes.
Use the Attachments button to scan or attach images or documents for the patient.
Under Insurance Policies, click New. The Policy Entry window is displayed. Enter the patient's insurance policy information.
Click Ok. The Walkin Setup window is displayed.
Click Ok.
