To plan the course of treatment for a patient, create visits for the individual tasks to be performed. Afterward, create a plan through which the visits will be executed.
You can drag and drop items from one visit to another, and repeat visit types in multiple plans.
To add a treatment plan for a patient:
In the Patient window, select EMR > Treatment Plans. The Treatment Plan window is displayed, listing any existing treatment plan visits.
The currently active plan is expanded in the list, and the active visit is displayed in red.
Click . The Create New Treatment Plan Visit window is displayed.
Enter a name for the treatment plan visit, or use the drop-down list to select an existing name.
If the provider or service office for the visit is different from the one associated with the patient, use the drop-down lists to select another provider or service office.
In the Status field, select one of the following:
Diagnosed
Proposed
Rejected
Accepted
Scheduled
Completed
Click the Dx Codes button to select the diagnosis for which the treatment plan or procedure is proposed. A maximum of four can be associated with each line item procedure.
Click the Ins Info button to display the Patient Treatment Plan Insurance Billing Details window. Enter the insurance billing detailsEnter the insurance billing details.
If the patient has more than one insurance plan, select the appropriate plan from the list.
In the Extended Information section, use the drop-down lists to select the facility or laboratory for this procedure. Use the search features to select and enter referral information, and any applicable medical or dental ailments.
Select the Active checkbox if this is the active treatment visit.
Treatment visits are only displayed in the Reserved section of an Optical Encounter ticket when this checkbox is selected.
In the Procedure Code column, enter the code for the first procedure and press Tab. The Description is entered automatically.
To select a code from the list, click . The Procedure Code Search window is displayed.
If a tooth number is required, you are prompted to enter it.you are prompted to enter it.
Click . The Teeth
Set window is displayed. Select the tooth or range of teeth, and
click Ok.
When you select a range of teeth for a procedure, the software automatically creates a line item for each tooth in the range. Each line item can be edited separately.
Use the Mod 1 and Mod 2 drop down lists to select the modifiers to use in this procedure.
Press Tab to enter the surface and number of units for this procedure.
If the Charge, Patient Due, and Insurance Due amounts have not been entered automatically via the procedure code, press Tab to enter them.
Press Tab to move to the next line to enter another procedure for this treatment plan.
If Insurance Estimating is set up for the patient's insurance plan, click the Estimate button at the bottom of the window. The Patient Due and Insurance Due amounts are calculated. These are reflected in the Treatment Plan Proposal and Treatment Plan Summary.
If an error message is returned after clicking Estimate, click the Fix Errors Note icon next to the Estimate button to view details.
The Insurance Estimating feature is available beginning with version 10.0.2 of the software. You will not see this functionality prior to updating to this version.
When you have entered all the procedures for this treatment plan, click Ok.
To edit the details of a treatment plan visit, or to change the status, select the treatment plan visit from the Treatment Plan window, and click .
