Patient Prescriptions are managed from
the EMR feature of the Patient Window.
Use the buttons on the right to begin.
To enter a practice prescription for a patient:
In the Patient Window, select EMR > Rx. A list of the patient's prescriptions is displayed.
Click .
A new line item is created, with the date and prescription type.
With the cursor in the Rx column, select from the list of prescription codes. The Description, Frequency, and Provider columns are automatically populated.
Click to save
the item.
Select the Print checkbox for each prescription you want to print.
Click to print
the prescriptions.
Select a prescription in the list and click . A new
line item is added with the copied information.
Once a prescription has been printed, it cannot be deleted from the patient's record. You can void it if you have the appropriate security level permission. Once a prescription is voided, it is still displayed in the Rx list, but it will not be included in reports unless the option to include voided prescriptions has been selected in the Patient Prescription report.
To void a prescription, select
it and click .
The Create Patient Rx Note window is displayed for you to enter a reason
for the void. When you click Ok,
the note is saved with the voided prescription, which is grayed out. Saved
notes cannot be edited, but you can double-click the note to view it,
and click {A} to append, or add
information to the note.
