Locking and Revising Forms

You can lock a completed form if manual locking has been enabled. For more information, see Setting Up Digital Forms Preferences. Once a form is locked, no part of that document can be changed. Revising a form creates an exact copy of the original that you can edit. Both copies are dated and saved.

To lock a digital form:

  1. On the Digital Forms tab of the Patient Workspace window, click the Completed tab. All completed forms for a patient are displayed.

  2. Select the form you want to lock, and click Lock. A check mark is displayed in the Locked column for that form.

To revise a locked form:

  1. On the Digital Forms tab of the Patient Workspace window, click the Completed tab. All completed forms for that patient are displayed.

  2. Select the locked form you want to revise. When you select a locked form, the Revise button becomes active.

  3. Click Revise. A message asks if you want to create a revision of the form.

  4. Click Yes. The form is opened in the Microsoft Word software.

  5. Edit the form as needed, and click Save and Close. An icon is displayed in the Revised column to indicate there are revisions to this document.

  6. You can double-click the icon in the Revised column to view the Digital Form Revision History window for that form. The most recent form is always displayed in the Patient Digital Forms window.
