To comply with CDT code changes, you might need to add, change, or delete procedure codes. Update CDT code changes only once per new CDT code release.
Only users with the appropriate security level permission can perform this function. You must accept the End-User License Agreement (EULA) before processing the CDT code update.
To apply CDT code changes:
Select Utilities > CDT Update > Apply CDT Code Changes. The Confirm Password window is displayed.
Type your password and click Ok. The ADA CDT Code License Agreement window is displayed.
Click Agree. The CDT 2020 Code Update window is displayed. The Add tab displays the new CDT codes.
The list of CDT codes includes oral surgery codes, as well as codes for other types of practices.
Select one of the following:
Click the Change tab. A list of the procedure codes whose descriptions changed in the new CDT code update is displayed. The codes have two descriptions:
A 25-character description that applies to the short description field in the procedure code table
A 40-character description that applies to the long description in the procedure code table
Select one of the following:
Click the Delete tab. All ADA procedure codes that are obsolete are listed on the Delete tab.
Select one of the following:
Click Ok. A window is displayed to print the CDT Code Update Summary report.
