eServices > Using the eClaims Service
The Real Time Claim Submission service enables you to instantaneously transmit and adjudicate claims with participating insurance companies.
You must be enrolled in eClaims and have an Internet connection in order to use the Real Time Claim Submission service. To enroll in eClaims, contact your sales representative.
Before using the Real Time Claim Submission service, select the Enable Real Time Claims checkbox in the Insurance Settings window. See Setting Insurance Defaults for more information.
To use the real time claim submission service:
Select Insurance > eServices. The eServices window is displayed.
Click Load. The Claim Submission List window is displayed with real time claims highlighted in blue.
Select a claim highlighted in blue (the highlight color changes to light blue), and click Send Selected Claim, or click Send RT Claim on the menu at the right.
The claim status changes from Waiting validation to Provider Info OK if the claim passes validation, and the status bar at the bottom of the window displays a Transmitting Claim message.
When the claim has been successfully transmitted, the payer sends a Claim Status response.
The Claim Status response is saved to the patient's Documents window. Click the printer icon in the upper-left corner of the window to print the response.
Select the next real time claim and repeat steps 3 and 4.
