Using the File Menu to Search for a Record

To search for a record using the File menu:

  1. From the File menu, select the menu item corresponding to the record type. The Find window for the selected menu item is displayed.

  2. Type the search criteria in the top half of the window.

  3. Select the search method from the Find By drop-down list. See Record Search Methods for a list of search methods for each record type.

  4. Click OK. The matching record is displayed in SCAN mode.

Example:Example:To find the account record for Jane Doe, select Find > Account. The Find Account window is displayed. Type Doe in the G1 Last name field, select Name from the Find By drop-down list, and click OK. The account record for Jane Doe is displayed in SCAN mode.

TipTip

If the correct record is not displayed, use the arrow buttons at the top of the window to display the next or previous record.
