If your practice submits procedures to both dental and medical insurance, you can use the Medical Cross-Coding feature to link a standard ADA procedure with an equivalent medical (CPT) code. In addition, you can specify up to four diagnosis codes for each medical procedure code.
To link dental and medical codes, you must do the following:
Add medical insurance plans and associate the appropriate patient with a specific plan. For more information, see Setting Up Insurance.
Add the CPT medical codes. For more information, see Adding ADA, CPT, and Transaction Codes.
Add the diagnosis codes. For more information, see Adding Diagnosis Codes.
Link the ADA and CPT codes. For more information, see Linking ADA and CPT Codes.
Link the CPT and diagnosis codes. For more information, see Linking ADA/CPT and Diagnosis Codes.
