Handling Mixed Dentition

Using the charting module enables you to accurately chart the following for all patients:

When you set up practice information in the Practice window, you dictate the age at which permanent teeth are displayed in the chart.

Primary teeth with the molars unerupted are displayed in the chart for patients younger than the patient adult age indicated in the window. Permanent teeth are displayed, and all primary teeth are indicated as missing in the chart for patients equal to or older than the age indicated in the window.

When both are located in one location:

You can also chart conditions and procedures for both tooth types and the associated roots.

Primary and permanent tooth toggles are located between the arch in the charting module.

If primary teeth are displayed by default:If primary teeth are displayed by default:Tooth letters are displayed in the chart.

If permanent teeth are displayed by default:If permanent teeth are displayed by default:Tooth numbers are displayed.

To toggle between a primary and permanent tooth when both share the same location:To toggle between a primary and permanent tooth when both share the same location:Click the tooth number or letter in the center of the tooth chart. If there is no mixed dentition noted for the tooth, only the primary or permanent tooth can be displayed.
