Setting Up Color and Goal Scheduling

The following can be used separately or jointly to increase the efficiency and profitability of your work schedule:

• Color scheduling:Color scheduling enables you to color-code the Daily Appointments (Daybook) window by procedure or by production amount. Using color scheduling as a visual aid for your front desk staff helps your office expedite appointment handling.

• Goal scheduling:Goal scheduling helps you calculate production goals and track scheduled and actual production amounts in relation to your goals.

• Color scheduling is not the same as assigning colors to rooms. Room colors are for visual reference only and do not affect color  or goal scheduling.

Before setting up color  or goal scheduling, decide how your office will schedule appointments by:

• Procedure.

• Production amount.

Each approach requires a slightly different setup.

• Use color scheduling by procedure:To control when and where specific procedures are scheduled.

• Use color scheduling by production amount:To attain production goals by controlling the production dollars being scheduled.

• Use color scheduling by procedure and production amount:To control when and where specific procedures are scheduled while simultaneously controlling the production dollars being scheduled.

• Use goal scheduling:To track your scheduled or posted production amounts in relation to your production goals. For more information, see Goal Scheduling.
