Charting Treatment Plan Items

When the Restorative tab is displayed in a treatment plan mode, you can:

To chart treatment plan items:

  1. On the Restorative tab in the Charting for window, select an option:

  2. To chart primary treatment plan items:To chart primary treatment plan items:Select Treatment Plan Primary from the Mode drop-down list or select Treatment Plan 1 from the Chart Treatment Plan button on the Chart Mode toolbar.

  3. To chart secondary treatment plan items:To chart secondary treatment plan items:Select Treatment Plan Secondary from the Mode drop-down list, or select Treatment Plan 2 from the Chart Treatment Plan button on the Chart Mode toolbar.

  4. To chart tertiary treatment plan items:To chart tertiary treatment plan items:Select Treatment Plan Tertiary from the Mode drop-down list, or select Treatment Plan 3 from the Chart Treatment Plan button on the Chart Mode toolbar.

  1. Select the procedure on the Procedure Codes toolbar.

  2. To chart a procedure that is not displayed in the toolbar, select it from the ADA drop-down list located at the top of the toolbar.

  3. You can select only one procedure at a time, but many procedures can be applied to multiple teeth.

  1. Select the tooth. If the procedure requires a surface or quadrant, you can select a single tooth only.

  2. If the ADA code is not set up correctly in the practice management software, the procedure cannot be charted. For example, if the tooth or surface requirements are not defined, you cannot chart the procedure.

  1. Click Save All. If Add Clinical Notes While Posting is selected in the Chart Options window, the Add Clinical Notes window is displayed. Add the notes and click Yes.

  2. To view the treatment plan items, click the Treatment Planning tab.
