Charting FGM and MGJ

You must chart FGM to calculate attachment loss automatically when the chart is displayed in perio numeric chart mode. You can chart negative FGM values. When charting FGM or MGJ, the pocket depth values entered do not change.

To chart FGM and MGJ:

1. In the Chart for window, click the Perio tab.

2. Select the display mode on the Perio Views toolbar.

3. Select an option:

4. To chart FGM:Select Free Gingival Margin on the Probe toolbar, and select the first tooth in the appropriate quadrant or arch. By default, FGM is charted in maroon. After you chart FGM, subsequently charted perio depths precede the FGM data.

5. To chart MGJ:Select Muco-Gingival Margin on the Probe toolbar, and select the first tooth in the appropriate quadrant or arch. By default, MGJ is charted in blue.

If Auto Advance is enabled, the next pocket or next tooth is selected after you enter a value.

4. Click Save All.
