Adding Clinical Notes Per Visit at the End of the Day

You can enter clinical notes that are grouped by visit at the end of the day, instead of adding the notes after posting the procedures.
 

• To configure the software to enable you to add per-visit clinical notes to all charts at the end of the day, select Add Clinical Notes Per Visit and Add Clinical Notes at End Of Day in the Chart Properties window. See Setting Charting Options and Properties.

To add clinical notes by visit at the end of the day:

1. Chart and post a procedure. Any time after posting the procedure, select an option:

2. While on the Restorative, Exams, Clinical Imaging, or Treatment Planning tab in the chart:Click Review end of day notes from the Common toolbar.

3. While on any tab in the chart:Select Clinical Notes > Post End Of Day Notes.

OR

Select List > Clinical Notes > Post End of Day Notes.

The Add Clinical Notes for Visits window is displayed.

3. To display a list of visits that do not have notes associated with them:Select Current Visits Without Notes Assigned.

4. To display a list of visits that have notes associated with them:Select Current Visits that have had Notes Assigned.

3. Select a patient and click Add/Edit Note. The Patient Clinical Notes window is displayed.

5. Add a clinical note by highlighting the << Default Note not found. Please add a note here. >> text and typing the note.

6. Edit an existing note by typing in the area below the Tth-Surf/Quad line.

• You must have the appropriate security permissions to edit a clinical note. See Amending Patient Clinical Notes and Editing Patient Clinical Notes for more information.

5. To view a patient's chart, select a patient and click View Chart. The patient's chart is displayed.

6. You must close the chart before you can return to the Add Clinical Notes for Visits window.

6. Click OK.
