The Till window is primarily used for taking payments, but it can also be used to record other financial transactions. These types of transactions are available:
Payment — Records payments made by the patient. As well as recording the amount of the payment, you can record the payment method, such as cash, debit card, and so on. If the payment is made using multiple methods, the individual amount can be entered against each method at the same time before clicking Pay or Pay and Exit.
Charge — Records charges that are to be applied to the patient's record, such as a Late Cancellation charge or a DNA charge. When entering a charge, you can enter notes by clicking the ellipsis button.
Credit Note — Used when an amount is to be credited to a patient's financial record, but no money is deposited in the till. When entering a credit note, you can add notes by clicking the ellipsis button.
Refund — Used when a refund is given to a patient. As well as recording the amount of the refund, you can record the refund method, such as cash, debit card, and so on.
Discount — Used when a discount is to be applied for treatment performed on that day. The discount can be a fixed discount (i.e., £10, £20, and so on), or it can be a percentage of the cost of treatment (i.e., 5%, 10%, and so on). When applying a discount, you can enter notes by clicking the ellipsis button.
The discount option should be used only on the same day that the treatment charges are applied to the patient's record.
