Default Examinations

When a new course of treatment is started, a list of default examinations is displayed.  When the required option is selected, the treatment codes that are included within that option are added to the course of treatment.  Each scheme type has its own list of Default Examinations.  If no Default Examinations have been created for a scheme, you cannot start a new course of treatment under that scheme.

To add a default examination:

  1. From Clinical Administration, click Tools.

  2. Click Default Examinations.  The Default Examinations window is displayed.

  3. Click Add.  The Default Exam window is displayed.

  4. Select the scheme from the Pat Group drop-down list.

  5. Enter a description for the new default exam. The description is displayed on the Create Plan window when starting a new course of treatment.

  6. Click Add.  The Codes window is displayed.

  7. Select a code and click Apply.

  8. Repeat until all required codes have been added.

  9. Click OK to return to the Default Exam window.

  10. Click OK to return to the Clinical Administration window.

To edit an existing default examination:

  1. From Clinical Administration, click Tools.

  2. Click Default Examinations.  The Default Examinations window is displayed.

  3. Select the item that is to be changed and click Edit.  The Default Exam window is displayed.

  4. To remove an existing code, select it in the list and click Delete.

  5. To edit an existing code, select it in the list and click Edit.  The Codes window is displayed.

  6. Select the new code that is to be used and click OK to return to the Default Examinations window.

  7. Click Close to return to the Clinical Administration window.

To delete an existing default examination

  1. From Clinical Administration, click Tools.

  2. Click Default Examinations.  The Default Examinations window is displayed.

  3. Select the item that is to be deleted and click Delete.

  4. Click Close to return to the Clinical Administration window.
