Updating a License File

To install a new PracticeWorks license file:

1. Close PracticeWorks on all computers in the office.

• If you do not have a copy of your present license file on diskette, back up the file by copying the existing PWLF.DAT file in :\PWORKS\PWSvr onto the server's desktop. You can use this copy to restore the file if there are any errors in the new license file.

2. Install the updated file on the server.

3. Double-click the PWServer key.

4. Click License files.

5. Select the existing file.

6. Click Delete license file.

7. Click Yes.

8. Insert the new license floppy disk in the appropriate drive.

9. Click Install license file.

10. Select the proper source location.

11. Click OK.

12. Click Close.

13. Click Close.

14. Launch PracticeWorks.

15. Click Help > About PracticeWorks to view the corrected name and address information.
