Setting Up the eClaims Service

You can access the eClaims service from within PracticeWorks. From the Activities menu, select eClaims Service.

Claim status inquiry

You can check the status of insurance claims submitted electronically by using the Claim Status button that has been added to the following windows:

Click Claim Status to receive the status information about the selected claim. An Obtaining Claim Status message is displayed while the information is being retrieved. The result is displayed in HTML format.

Claim status progress notes entry

When you perform a claim status inquiry, a progress note is added to the patient’s record.

The note provides the following information:

To view the saved HTML claim status document from the patient’s clipboard, click History, select the progress note from the list and click View. The document is displayed.

Payor lists

eClaims payor lists print with payor numbers.

Reports

You can now request eClaims reports, and other eServices reports, without having to transmit claims first.

To request reports while using the e-claim processing service:

  1. Select Activities > eClaims Service. The Submission Claims List window is displayed.

  2. Select View/Retrieve Reports/ePostings. The PracticeWorks eServices Reports window is displayed.

  3. Click Retrieve Reports/ePostings to connect and receive any pending reports.

To request e-services reports from within PracticeWorks:

  1. From the File menu, select Print > PracticeWorks eServices > eServices reports. The PRACTICEWORKS eServices Reports window is displayed.

  2. Click Retrieve Reports to connect and receive any pending reports.

Filtering reports

You can select what types of reports to view in the PRACTICEWORKS eServices Reports window.

Under View File Types, the following options are available:

Select the option next to the types of reports you want to display in the list.
