Preparing the SQL Database Backup

At the end of each day, the office manager or employee with appropriate security permissions must prepare the SQL database information so it can be backed up during your regular backup procedure.

There are two initial settings you must make before you can prepare the SQL data:

To prepare the SQL Server information:

  1. Ensure that all other users are logged off.

  2. Select File > Prepare Backup. The software prepares a backup copy of the SQL databases. A message is displayed when the process is completed.

  3. Click OK.

  4. You must perform this step at the end of each business day to ensure that the current day’s data is prepared for backup.

TIP: Add the Prepare Backup function to the Daily Checklist.
