Using Utilities > Exporting and Importing Treatment Plan Templates
You should have a thorough knowledge of your procedures, as you must be able to match up the procedures — if desired — and the appointment types. Appointment types and procedure codes cannot be added during the import.
If you schedule by procedure code, you won't be prompted to match appointment types.
To import treatment plan templates:
From the Windows taskbar, select Start > Run and type uplanimp.
Click OK. The Treatment Plan Import window is displayed.
After reading the instructions in the window, click Next. The Treatment Plan Import Step 1 — Select Plans to Import window is displayed.
Perform the following steps:
Click in the Location of the import file field and navigate to the folder to which you exported the templates. Select the PLANEXP.MDB file and click Open.
Click the drop-down arrow in the Data Set to Import Treatment Plan(s) into: field and select the data set to which you want to add the templates.
All of the treatment plans
are selected by default. Deselect the options for plans you
do not want to import.

Click Next. The Treatment Plan Import Step
2 — Select Category
for Imported Steps window is displayed.
The software might display a message if the treatment plans you are importing have the same names as your existing treatment plans. Select the appropriate option for your data.
Select from the following:
The Maintain Existing Categories option is selected by default. If you need to assign a different category to the imported steps, select Assign All Imported Steps to the Following Category: and type the category name.
Accept the default of If the Step exists in the data, copy duplicate step or select Use existing step. Click Next. The Treatment Plan Import Step 3 — Procedure Code Assignments window is displayed.
Select from the following:
The Add These Procedure Codes Automatically option is selected by default, as is the Maintain Existing Categories option. Click Next to add the procedure codes automatically.
If you need to assign a different category to the imported procedure codes, select Assign All Imported Procedures to the Following Category: and type the category name.
If you want to manually match the procedure codes to those codes already in your database, select Manually Match These Procedure Codes to Existing Database and click Edit Entries. The Manual Assignments window is displayed.
Select a procedure code from
the list on the left and match that code to one from the list on the
right by clicking on the item description. (The text in the right
column changes to italic when you have assigned the code.) Tip:Tip:
After completing all assignments, click Continue.
Click Next.
The Treatment Plan Import Step 4 — Import Questionnaires window is displayed.
Select from the following:
The Add These Questionnaires Automatically option is selected by default, as is the Maintain Existing Categories of Imported Questionnaires option. Click Next to add the questionnaires automatically.
If you need to assign a different category to the imported questionnaires, select Assign All Imported Questionnaires to the Following Category: and type the category name.
If you want to manually match the questionnaires to those questionnaires already in your database, select Manually Match These Questionnaires to Existing Database and click Edit Entries. The Manual Assignments window is displayed.
Select a questionnaire from
the list on the left and match it to one from the list on the right
by clicking on the item description. (The text in the right column
changes to italic when you have assigned the questionnaire.) Tip:Tip:
After completing all assignments, click Continue.
Click Next.
The Treatment Plan Import Step 5 — Import Letters window is displayed.
Select from the following:
The Add These Letters Automatically option is selected by default. Click Next to add the letters automatically.
If you want to manually match the letters to those letters already in your database, select Manually Match These Letters to Existing Database and click Edit Entries. The Manual Assignments window is displayed.
Select a letter from the list
on the left and match it to one from the list on the right by clicking
on the item description. (The text in the right column changes to
italic when you have assigned the letter.) Tip:Tip:
After completing all assignments, click Continue.
Click Next.
The Treatment Plan Import Step 6 — Assign Status window is displayed.
Click Next. The Manual Assignments window is displayed.
Select a status from the list
on the left and match it to one from the list on the right by clicking
on the item description. (The text in the right column changes to
italic when you have assigned the status.) Tip:Tip:
After completing all assignments, click Continue.
The Treatment Plan Import Step 7 — Assign Appointment Types window is displayed.
If you schedule by procedure code, you won't be prompted to match appointment types. Skip Step 10.
Click Next. The Manual Assignments window is displayed.
Select an appointment type
from the list on the left and match it to one from the list on the
right by clicking on the item description. (The text in the right
column changes to italic when you have assigned the appointment type.)

After completing all assignments, click Continue.
The Treatment Plan Import Step 8 — Begin Treatment Plan Import window is displayed.
Click Next. The Treatment Plan Import Step 9 — Import Treatment Plan Data window is displayed, and the import begins. When the import is complete, a message is displayed.
Click OK.
