To create an annotation with a single image displayed, click the Text tool. Place the cursor over the image. Click-and-drag diagonally to create a text box. Type the text. Click outside the box, and the text is displayed.
Use tools in the Tool Box to draw lines and arrows, enclose an area of concern, and manipulate the image in different ways.
To change the appearance of the annotation or drawings you made, use the tools found on the Annotations toolbar.
With an annotated image displayed, click the Annotations Toolbar button to activate the annotation tools. The tools are displayed at the bottom of the window:
These buttons are found on the Annotations toolbar:
Font Properties button—Open the Font window, where you can change the properties of the text. |

Bold button—Apply the bold font style to selected text. |
|
Italic button—Italicize selected text. |
|
Underline button—Underline selected text. |
|
Increase Font button—Increase the font size of selected text by one point. |
|
Decrease Font button—Decrease the font size of selected text by one point. |
|
Font Color button—Apply a color to the selected text. |
|
Highlight Color button—Select the color used by the Highlight tool. |
|
Fill Color button—Select the color used by the Rectangle tool and Ellipse tool. |

Fill Pattern button—Select the fill pattern used by the Rectangle tool and Ellipse tool. |
|
Fill Mode button—Select the fill mode used by the Rectangle tool and Ellipse tool. There are three fill modes: transparent, opaque, and translucent. |

Line Width button—Select the line width used by the Line tool and Object tool. |
|
Line Style button—Select the line style used by the Line tool and Object tool. This button is only available when the line width is 1 point. |

Line Color button—Select the line color used by the Line tool and Object tool. |
