Using the Orientation Indicator

The Orientation Indicator is displayed in the bottom left corner of the 3D View Screen.

 

As you rotate the 3D view, the Orientation Indicator rotates at the same time to help you understand which perspective of the 3D view is being displayed.

 

The letters displayed on the Orientation Indicator are described below. If reviewing Wrist, use L & R.

 

H

Head, view from above

F

Foot, view from below

L

Left, view from the patient's left

R

Right, view from the patient's right

A

Anterior, view from in front of the patient

P

Posterior, view from behind the patient

 

These letters are also used throughout CS 3D Imaging to show the orientation of 2D images within the volume.

2D MPR view screens

 

 

A typical 2D MPR view screen displays four orientation indicators (A) that use the same letters as the 3D orientation Indicator shown above. Coronal Slice View Screen

 

In this case, different letters (B and L) are used to show specific orientation:

  • B-Buccal

  • L-Lingual

 

Note: Bilateral will be disabled when Wrist is in use.
