Setting Up Referral Information
You can create referral groups to use when communicating with or tracking the referrals from a group of referral sources, such as a practice with multiple providers. Set up the group separately, and then edit the individual referral sources to assign them to the group.
To set up a referral group:
Select Tables > Referrals > Referrals. The Referral Source Search window is displayed.
Click New. The Referral Source Data Entry window is displayed, showing the Basic tab.
Select a Referral Category for the group.
Select the Referral is a Group option on the right. The Referral Group drop-down list is disabled.
In the Practice Name field, enter the name of the group.
The Referral Group and Practice Name must be the same.
Enter the practice information into the appropriate fields, but do not enter information for any specific provider.
Click Ok.
The Interests/Family tab of the Referral Source Data Entry window is disabled when you identify the source as a group.
To associate individuals with a referral group:
From the Referral Source Search window, locate a provider and click Edit. If the provider is not entered in the software, click New. The Referral Source Data Entry window is displayed.
Select the Referral Category for the group.
Select the Referral Group to which the provider belongs.
Enter the Practice Name and information.
The Practice Name must be entered exactly as it appears in the Referral Group field for all associated entries.
Click Ok.
To find the providers associated with a particular group:
Select Tables > Referrals > Referrals. The Referral Source Search window is displayed.
In the Last, First field, enter % (percent sign).
In the Practice Name field, enter the name of the group.
Click Find. The providers associated with the group are displayed on the left.
