Setting Up Audit Log and Security Options > Setting HIPAA Options
You are not required to set strong passwords in order to use the software. However, if you decide to use the Strong Passwords feature, it must be enabled prior to using it. Once enabled, you must follow certain rules to create and use the password.
Strong passwords require the following:
Seven characters in length
One numeric character
One letter
Cannot be based on a user's name
Cannot be the same as the previous password
Cannot include more than two paired letters
To enable strong passwords:
On the Audit Logs & Security tab of the Practice Data Entry window, select the Enable Strong Passwords checkbox.
Click Ok.
After strong passwords have been enabled, you are prompted to change your password when you log back into the software.
