Setting Up Departments

One way to customize the patient workspace to the needs of specific personnel is to set up departments first. For example, by setting up a Billing department, you can customize the patient workspace to open directly to pending claims for employees who work with billing. For clinical employees, you can direct the workspace to open the patient's electronic medical records by default.

To set up departments:

  1. Select Tables > Practice > Departments. The Department Search window is displayed.

  2. Click New. The Department Data Entry window is displayed with a department ID number assigned.

  3. Enter a Department Name and click Ok. This department becomes available for selection when setting department preferences.
