Adding Billing Information

Use the Billing tab of the Patient Data Entry window to provide detailed information about the guarantor and billing setup.

To add detailed billing information:

  1. Click the Billing tab.

  2. To set the patient as the person responsible for paying the bill, select Patient is Guarantor. Go to step 6.

  3. To set guarantor information, in the Primary and Alternate fields, type the first few letters of the names of the guarantors and click the ellipsis button to search for the guarantors.

  1. From the Pat Rel drop-down list, select the relationship of the patient to the guarantor.

  2. To swap the primary and alternate guarantors, click Rotate.

  3. Each patient can have a maximum of two guarantors. Only the primary guarantor is billed.

  1. From the Billing Category drop-down list, select a billing method.

  2. From the Fee Schedule drop-down list, select a fee schedule.

  3. If necessary, change the option in the Ins Due Calc drop-down list.

  4. To send a statement to a guarantor, select Send Statement.

  5. To apply service charges for a treatment, select Apply Service Charge.

  6. To display dunning messages on a statement, select Print Dunning Message.

  7. If the amount due is in collections, select In Collections.

  1. Click Ok.
