Merging Data and Printing Letters

Individual patient letters can be generated in two ways:

To generate a letter, click Letters from the Patient or Referral window.

Letters can be printed for all patients or referral sources, or for a specific list of patients or referral sources.

To select a letter:To select a letter:

  1. On the WinOMS toolbar, click Patients or Referrals. The Patient Search window or Referral Source Search window is displayed.

  2. Type search criteria in the search fields and click Find. The records matching your search criteria are displayed on the left side of the search window.

  3. Double-click the patient or referral record for which you want to select letters. The Patient Activity window or Referral window is displayed.

  4. Click Letters. The Letters window is displayed.

  5. Click and drag a letter from the Document field to the Selected Documents field. Repeat this step for every letter you want to select.

  6. Click Merge to generate the letters.

To merge selected letters:To merge selected letters:

  1. In the Letters window, click Merge. A message is displayed, asking you to confirm the action.

  2. Click Yes. A message is displayed, asking if you want to update the letter history.

  3. Click Yes. WinOMS tracks the date and the name of the letter. The final letter can be edited and printed in either Microsoft Word or QuickEdit.
