Configuring Data Export

To use the Data Export feature, you must configure your software. This consists of the following tasks:

To enable the Data Export features:

  1. Close any open WinOMS windows.

  2. Select Tables > Practice > Practice Preferences. The Demographic tab of the Practice Data Entry window is displayed.

  3. Click the System Defaults tab, and select Enable Data Export.

  4. In the Output Directory field, verify or change the location in which you want to store the export files. The default directory is c:\ winomscs\documents\export.

  5. Click Ok.

  6. You must set up data export security prior to creating these exports for the first time, as the software is delivered with the Data Export function disabled.

To set up security for the Data Export feature:

  1. Select Utilities > Security. The Set Security Level Permissions window is displayed.

  2. Click the + symbol next to the Reports folder. This folder expands, displaying additional folders.

  3. Click the Data Export folder. The Data Export Security features are displayed in the right section of the window.

  4. Select the appropriate checkboxes for the Patient Demographics report and Transactions report.
