WinOMS eServices > Using the WinOMS ePayments Service
To process a credit card transaction using a card swiper:
In the Patient
window > Workspace, click . The
Payment/Adjustment Entry window is displayed.
Click next
to the Pay/Adj Code field. The Payment/Adjustment
Code Search window is displayed.
Click Display All to display all of the available payment/adjustment codes.
Select the appropriate payment code and click Ok to populate the Pay/Adj field. Credit Card is automatically populated in the Method field.
In the Amount field, enter the amount being charged to the credit card.
In the Method field, select Credit Card. The Credit Card field automatically displays *Using Electronic Credit Card Processing Service*.
Click Next. The Electronic Credit Card Processing Charge Authorization window is displayed.
If the card swiper is not connected properly or not available, a Warning message is displayed. Click Ok. An Electronic Credit Card Processing Charge Authorization window is displayed.
Swipe the credit card through the card swiper. The credit card details are automatically displayed in the fields on the Credit Card Information section.
The Status section of the Electronic Credit Card Processing Charge Authorization window displays a prompt based on the stage of the transaction.
To authorize the credit card, do one of the following:
Click the Submit authorization to the bank for approval button. The authorization process begins. After the card is authorized, the Authorization # field automatically displays details.
Select the Place in batch to authorize later? checkbox.
Click Ok. The Print window is displayed.
Click Ok. The Apply Payment window is displayed.
If you selected the Place in batch to authorize later? checkbox previously, you cannot distribute the payment at this time.
Verify the information on the window and click Next. The Next Action page of the Payment Wizard window is displayed.
Verify the details on this window and change the field information and Exit Option if necessary.
Click Finish. The Print Credit Card Receipt window is displayed.
Click Preview to review the receipt prior to printing it.
Click Print. Two copies of the receipt are displayed on one page.
