Inserting WinOMS Data Fields into a Form

The WinOMS data fields are merge fields you can enter to retrieve data from a record into a form. Patient-related forms, for example, when opened from a patient record, automatically populate the data fields with the information in the patient’s record. If the information is absent from the record, that merge field remains blank.

To insert a data field:

  1. Place your cursor where you want to insert the data field.

  2. Click through the folders in the WinOMS Data Field list to find the data field you want.

  3. Double-click the data field to insert it into the document.

  4. Insert the appropriate punctuation and spaces between merge fields. For example: <<last name>>, <space> <<first name>>.
