Viewing Claim Status

To view claim status:

1. Select List > Patient. Enter the patient’s name in the Find field and press Enter.

2. Click Transaction on the toolbar. The patient’s Transactions window is displayed.

3. To view the current status of a claim, click Claim Stat on the toolbar. The following columns are displayed: Date changes to Billed, Charges changes to Amount, Credits changes to Est. Ins., and Balance changes to Claim.

The Billed field determines the age of insurable transactions.

If the patient is on ICM0:The Billed date is the date of service.

If the patient is on ICM1 or ICM2:The field is blank until you post a payment against a claim.

The Est. Ins. field displays the estimated payment for procedures on outstanding claims or the insurance payment amount for paid claims.

After you click Claim Stat, one of seven notations is displayed in the Claim column for each procedure, followed by the claim number:

• NO INS:Procedure is not insurable.

• NOT SENT:Transaction has not been submitted to insurance.

• PR:Claim is pending the primary insurance plan payment.

• SC:Claim is pending the secondary insurance plan payment.

• TR:Primary insurance claim balance has been transferred to the patient balance.

• PD:Claim has been paid and marked as complete.

• AU:Treatment plan procedure has been submitted for pre-authorization. This claim notation is only displayed in the Treatment Plan window.
